search for me

sweetheart of the sun,

clouds passed through these late few days

i run my eye along the contour of a branch

feel the dormant life beneath

birds have been sitting on my fire escape in the morning

right now there's weight in my belly

as an old month ends new month begins

...

here, you are to close your eyes

feel, remember a kiss

feel how the air moves along your cheeks just before

rediscover that kisses are not soft

and not collision

they are in the moment of softening

know:
a blade of sun when it reaches your cheek on early spring days

has traveled so many miles from a great burning explosion to get to you

to soften the hopeless weather we've had
